Happy Independence Day!

Well, almost the whole camp took the day off yesterday to celebrate our independence. We started the day with a group run around the base. All of the companies were in formation with their guide-ons (banners) leading the way.

Throughout the day there were all kinds of sporting events to participate in. There was a softball game in the morning as well as flag football. There was also a three-on-three basketball tournament a little later. For the people less inclined to sweat, there was a "Halo" tournament, which is a combat video-game. I chose not to participate in any of these, instead opting to read and watch a movie. The relaxation time was awesome.

The day ended with boxing. There was a nearly full card and a few of the medics boxed. It was a good end to the day, although the wind had kicked-up and it was pretty dusty.

I hope you all had good 4th! I told my buddies about all the good times I've had on Gull Lake out on the point with all of my friends. It was fun to reminisce. We had a couple of N/A Beck's and sat outside in lawnchairs for a while, but it wasn't the same. Oh well, there is always next year!

Hey Chris!

Glad to hear that you had an ok 4th of July. Although I'm still wondering why you don’t join in the boxing tournaments. Anyway, the festivities hear were not all that great due to the facts that A. I had to work and B. It rained. But the fireworks were pretty extraordinary, wish you could have seen them!

Love ya!
